Muskie is a 97 lb. deep chocolate English-style Lab that has Excellent OFA certification and his eyes are CERF’ed and cleared annually. His temperament is as gorgeous as his looks as he gets along with anyone and anything! He is a wonderful and enthusiastic retriever, very athletic with a super water entry. Muskie is a proven stud and his progeny have been healthy and very good-looking!  If breeding to Muskie, an artificial insemination procedure needs to take place.  The cost of the AI and bitch preparation for AI is covered by the owner of the bitch.  Frozen semen is available.

When breeding our studs, Heartland Retrievers has the following requirements:


1. The female's hips must be x-rayed and certified by OFA or Penn HIP. If they've been done recently, a letter from your vet evaluating the hips will suffice.


2. A current brucellosis test confirming negative results must be presented to Heartland.


We do emphasize an eye check by a canine opthamologist, but this is not required. Heartland provides a written contract on our stud service. Please contact us for more information about the breeding procedures, offspring from our studs and information concerning stud dogs. We pride ourselves on genetically sound Labrador Retrievers.
